About

I am a writer.  I have been a writer since I was a young.  Even when I wasn’t putting words on paper, I was creating stories.  When my brother and I played, we built rich back stories for all the characters and the places we inhabited.  I was far too excited about essay assignments as a student and my history teacher admitted that he saved my tests for last because he knew I’d have produced a lot of words, and that they’d all be on target so he wanted time to read them.

I was a writer even during the decades I didn’t believe in myself and wasn’t writing.

I started believing in myself as a writer again when I wrote my first erotic story and it met with excellent reviews.  I continued writing erotic short stories that I featured on another blog, some of which have been published.  See my Published In page for more information.

I’m in the process of writing my first novel.  It started one November as a NaNoWriMo project.  I continued with it the following November (yes I’m a cheater).  In the mean time, I read some of that work at local reading events through Creative Colloquy.  The pieces I read were enthusiastically embraced, but especially the character who dominated those excerpts:  Sherman Lowell Douglas.  Sherman is the childhood best friend of the story’s narrator, Kevin. They’ve gone their separate ways and reunite in adulthood.  Kevin is a reporter, Sherman is a serial killer.  This is the premise behind My Childhood Friend the Serial Killer.
